Too Bad Alaskan! | Volvo | download

Hopefully, the saddest song about a station wagon you’ve ever heard. More melancholy than anything: rockin’ the whiny whiny sadcore like it’s the 11th Grade (except not really).

But yeah, we had a funeral for my friend’s ancient Volvo back in July. It was pretty funny. I’m not sure who the Millionaire, his Daughter or their guests are, but they’ll be important someday.

Too Bad Alaskan! | Talkin’ Art School Dropout Soulmate-Searcin’ Blues | download

Long story… My good friend Clara Doucette wrote a song about me dropping out of art school in search of my soulmate, a task which apparently requires me embark on a mad roadtrip across the country. I forgot most of the words except the last line (which remains hers) and ended up recording my own version of her song, based around that verse and my hazy recollections.

Too Bad Alaskan! | The Great Stone Face | download

Finally! After months of telling ourselves that we’re recording this, The Great Stone Face is finished! This is the first original that TBA! ever performed as a unit: back in October Elizabeth arrived on scene to add some sweet, sweet harmonies, and just last week Michael made his Too Bad Alaskan! debut on mandolin. Matt wrote most of this back in December of last year (the Great Stone Face in question is none other than New Hampshire’s Old Man of the Mountain).
